So You Think You Can Be Prime Minister, Bloomsbury (2024)
Office of Craig

The brief was to design the cover and layout for a political satire book by the writer behind The Thick of It. Inspired by the party conferences in Blackpool and Brighton, as well as the British seaside, we sought to combine identity politics with British cultural humor. The goal was to create a playful cover that also subtly undermined the nature of the job itself. We drew on the familiar seaside and carnival fun of peep boards, where people interactively assume the face of a figure, and turned this trope into a political commentary. The cut lines on the cover, reminiscent of masks and magazine layouts, ran throughout the book. The interior layout included satirical job adverts, interactive quizzes, and a Prime Minister top trumps game, all adding to the book’s playful yet biting tone.
